One of the highlights of my 2011 was running in the Hood to Coast Relay with Nuun Hydration. It was truly a life-changing event. It was not easy. And other than the scenery, it wasn't all pretty. But some amazing friendships were made, and I learned a lot more about myself than I had imagined.
The fun began with filming my creative application. It continued with the pre-race festivities hosted by Nuun, and it reached a climax with the participation in the actual race and spending 27+ hot, sweaty, stinky, sleep-deprived, hungry hours with some incredible women. While the HTC experience came to a conclusion with my inability to party on the beach post-race, the Team Nuun good times wrapped up with more quality van time the day after riding to the airport with members of both groups of runners. You can read all about my Nuun 2011 Hood to Coast Relay experience on my Hood to Coast 2011 page here.
Today Nuun announced the details of this year's application process for their Hood to Coast Relay team! Click this link to read about the application process...
Run 2012 HTC Relay with Nuun!
Nuun will be fielding 3 teams this year...all-female, all-bloggers. The size of your blog is inconsequential. The speed you run is equally unimportant to securing a spot. It's all about what awesome positivity YOU will bring to the experience. In other words if you're a super fast, super 'big' blogger but a real jerk-whiner, forget it...probably ;-)
So the big question is...
Do you wanna run 2012 Hood to Coast Relay with Team Nuun? Then get crackin' on that application!
are you going for it this year?
ReplyDeletespeed does not matter...really..see that is what is stopping me to try for this
Seriously, Caroline. Do NOT let that concern stop you from applying. Do NOT.
ReplyDeleteI want to! But I'd want them to accept one male runner!! Waylon. And I don't know how many hoops I'd have to jump through to apply. :) I'm not big into hoop jumping these days. Tired.
ReplyDeleteIt's no hoops, girlie...just make a thingie and submit it :) But for now they just want chicks. Sorry, Waylon!
DeleteNuun has changed my life. About three hours into a run, I'd bonk, no matter my nutrition, water, etc. I sweat profusely, and the electrolyte tabs have completely solved the bonk problem!
ReplyDeleteHow awesome is that?! :)
DeleteHey, I'm a jerk-whiner and they let ME in. Hahaha! Just kidding! (I think.) I can't think of anything else but my application right now...
ReplyDeleteAwesome, I'm going for it!
ReplyDeleteI love Nuun! But I'm a guy, so they wouldn't want me in the van. Even if I did write that sympathetic post last week.
ReplyDeleteThe size of your blog is inconsequential. (TWSS)
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm .... I think it all sounds quite inviting ...
ReplyDeleteI want to want to...
ReplyDeleteWent and checked out your applications from last year. Hilarious! Just what I needed to brighten my Monday evening since Monday Night Football doesn't start for a while yet :-).
ReplyDeleteDon't tell anyone but I've just created a new female avatar and will start a new blog called Vegan Cookie Runner. I'll be applying for a NUUN spot from there.
ReplyDeleteLike I said don't tell anyone.
I want in sooo bad!!! Today while I was swimming it was all I could think about! I need to come up with an idea as great as yours! :-)
ReplyDeleteBtw...I tagged you with a bloggy award, so you are it! Run!
ReplyDeleteThis race sounds amazing and I would love to do it. Maybe. I'm just not super creative in terms of thinking of something for a video...
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness this is my dream race, I might have to try although I am totally not the creative movie type :)
