A grey day at the beach...

Yesterday we spent the day at the beach. Our friends who had that killer pool party were throwing a killer beach party. These people have the most amazing set-ups for parties... I want. But in the meantime, being their guest is just AWESOME! I didn't get any pictures of the actual party this time because I was too busy chasing a two-year old around on the beach for FIVE hours :P But here are some shots of our adventures on the sand...

This beach house is right on the beach... out the french doors, up and over this little dune...

And there it is.

Big G and Miss C and I went out to see what we could find...
here they are looking at a dead, dismembered crab...
very fascintating.

A whole mussel shell... she really wanted to touch it...
until she did.
She said, "Yucky."

She found a really big feather!

And then ran for the water!

There we found Q-Man...
in his swimming shorts IN the water!
Brrrrrrrrrrr.

He loves the beach.
being in the water,

digging in the sand,

finding cool stuff.

That was enough for Miss C.
Time to move on.
Attention span of a two-year old, remember?

Some walking down 'the path' as she called the tire tracks in the sand...

some contemplation while walking in these interesting circles in the sand...

a little burying...

and a little digging.

On the way back to the house,
we saw a group of girls splashing about in the freezingness.

It was Baby X and her friends.
"Come on in!"
This girl is just like her dad and her big sister...
Cold water fanatics!

Done with the beach for now...

Time for a cookie ;-)

In typical Northern California beach fashion, the fog burned off by about 3:30. By then my camera/phone had NO life left so no pictures of sunshine. But fog or sun, it was a wonderful time :)

  5. If I didn't know better I'd think that was Cape Cod...the dune at the top of the beach and the weather beaten chairs...

  7. Looks like so much fun. It is winter here in New Zealand. So, we would be wearing jumpers on the beach as well.
