No Excuses bike riding... and a cookie

My husband walked in the door, just getting home from work. It had been a long day; it was 7:30.

"I need to get out of here... can I take off for a bike ride?" I asked.

"Go," he said, exhaustedly.

What a great guy!

I got ready to go... really excited to watch the fog come in and feel the wind in my face... pulled the bike out... oops. I had forgotten that flattish tire from Monday :(  So I pumped it up nice and full... and I could hear that "wheeeeeeeeze" noise of the air escaping. Dang it. I needed to go ride my bike.

What do you do when you have a leaky tire? ....and you are not equipped to fix it...

can you see that hole?
it's just under the right side of that split tread.

A)  stay home and watch some lame television show?

B)  sit down at the kitchen table with a big spoon and a carton of Ben and Jerry's?

C)  stomp to your room, slam the door and cry?

D)  Bring the pump along?

Yes!
I chose D.
(as was suggested by that amazing guy I married)

The fog looked so cool as it blew in. The air felt great.
I still need to work on that G-force grimace face thing I have going on, though.
I only used the pump once...about 10 minutes into the 30-minute ride.
Yes, it was just a quickie, but it was sooooo satisfying!

On the Mom Front...

Miss C had her first-ever chocolate chip cookie...
girl didn't know what she was missing...until now!

she loved it...

a lot.

I'll leave you with this cuteness...

and spare you the video of her reaction to getting

"no"

for an answer when she asked for another.

  9. If you decide to not replace the tire and just always carry the pump around, you might want to look into a C02 cartridge pump. It fits in your pocket negating the need for the backpack.

    Just a thought....

  12. LOL - I would have sat and had a cookie with my adorable kid :) Of course after years of that I am much bigger than I ever thought I would be. So your plan was far better.
