However, it was such an amazing thing to see... and not too many people get to see it... that I really wanted to share it. I think I've cropped the pic to be discreet enough for this blog (remember... kids look at this site... and squeamish people, too... ) So here is Miss C as she is coming out the chute....
What I wasn't ready to show are the pictures of her emerging head and getting out to her neck with the sac still on. I couldn't crop that in a way I was okay with :P In this picture, they had just taken the sac off of her head and face because her cord was wrapped around her neck and they needed to unwind it. You can see the shrink-wrap effect of the sac still on her arms and torso, though.
Here is Nurse Christine,
showing the piece that was over her head:
There you have it... my baby born in the caul.
Interesting. This isn't the same thing as being born in your bag of waters is it?
ReplyDeleteYes, Amanda. It is the amniotic sac. In her birthday post I linked a bunch of info about that…probably should have linked it here, too :P I'll try to fix that later.
ReplyDeleteMost amazing pictures! Love!
ReplyDeleteThat is amazing! Years ago I watched something similar on "A Baby Story". You did a great job croping the photo becuase it is really a great picture of your daughter joining the world. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOK-that is wierd but really really cool! I definitely would have had to google the word caul had you not clarified! Hope you had a great weekend:)

ReplyDeleteHoly moly!! That's amazing and beautiful and gross at the same time! Is it normal to have the amniotic sac still on? Hehe...I said sac ;) Soooooo mature!
ReplyDeleteThat's incredible! I have to admit, I went and googled it to see a photo, because I was/am SO intrigued by it! Your picture is actually much more interesting and less grody than some that I'd seen! LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting it!
Awesome! Supposedly, being born in the caul means Miss C will have second sight.

I'm a writer from Ortacesus, Italia just sent this onto a colleague who was running some research on this. And she actually bought me lunch simply because I came across it for her... lol. Actually, allow me to reword this.... Thanks for the food... But anyways, thanx for spending some time to discuss this subject here on your web site.
