So many of you were super sweet to tell me after watching my vlog that you liked my face and that you think I am pretty. Unfortunately, I don't hold a candle to my mom. This picture was taken in 1972 when she was 31 years old. To this day, men around town wax poetic about my mother.
I remember when she came to one of my gymnastics meets when I was in high school. Most of the boys' team had their tongues hanging out when she walked into the room. One of them said to me,
"Dang! That's yo' momma? She is hottttttt! Do you think she'd go out wit' me?"
And then he said, "You must look like your dad."
Ouch.
But yeah, I do :)
She's definitely a natural beauty.

ReplyDeleteYour comment reminded me of a time one of my neighbors commented on how beautiful my duaghter was. "Who does she look like?" I decided to play this out and said "most people think she looks like me" Oh, no, no, was my neighbors response! Makes me laugh everytime. The minute I saw your mothers picture I thougt you looked just like her! There are two very beautiful women in your family! I hope your race goes well today!

I absolutely love this picture. I wish I had lived in those days- I always look back on pictures of mom and her sisters and envy wanting to be back in that time.
